Outdoor Adventure Activities in Yorkshire

SCROLL TO DISCOVER

Like being outdoors? Then you’ll love your visits to Brickyard Lakes!

As well as being renowned for our holiday homes with fishing lakes, our beloved park offers the perfect pitstop between a wealth of other amazing outdoor activities. Let’s explore the outdoor activities in Yorkshire.

Walking/hiking

Don your hiking boots and get ready for some of the most beautiful walking routes you’ll ever see in the UK! Forge Valley Woods, Roseberry Topping, and Osmotherley are just a handful of the favourites recommended by Countryfile that aren’t too far from us here at Brickyard Lakes. Yorkshire offers the best options for outdoor adventure activities!

Cycling

North Yorkshire is home to a great variety of cycling routes. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist looking for a new solo challenge (such as the Etape du Dales route) or you want a nice gentle ride to take in the view with your family (like the Castle Howard & Nunnington Hall route), there’s a trail for everyone in this lovely part of the country.

Water sports

The best family outdoor activity is water sports. Any excuse to get on the water is a good one, but being in North Yorkshire is the best for all the water sports and activities you can plunge into! North Yorkshire Water Park is a mere 40 minutes away and offers wakeboarding, paddle boarding, kayaking, open-water swimming, and more – and that’s just the beginning!

Photography

North Yorkshire boasts a wealth of stunning scenery and wildlife that any photographer will itch to capture. Just a few photography hotspots near Brickyard Lakes include Whitby 199 Steps, Lone Tree, and Brimham Rocks.

If you prefer taking pictures of buildings, however, we cannot recommend the beauty of Castle Howard or Fountains Abbey enough!

Fishing

As we have holiday homes with fishing lakes here at Brickyard – two very large ones, in fact – we can’t imagine that you’ll need to travel further for your fishing exploits – especially as they’re recommended by northyorkmoors.co.uk!

However, in case you do fancy a change of scene, Selley Bridge Lake is just under 10 miles away and Malton Lakes is just under a quarter of an hour’s drive down the road!

The possibilities for outdoor activities really are endless when you make North Yorkshire your home from home!

So, if you’re looking for holiday homes with fishing lakes or in close proximity to lots of different outdoor activities, be sure to book your viewing at Brickyard Lakes today...
